A scholarly record of living heritage.

The Commission on Science and Research examines intangible cultural heritage through scholarship and produces documents, publications, and conference proceedings that contribute to the study of folk art and living traditions.

Its World and European Scientific Conferences bring researchers and heritage practitioners together to exchange findings and methods.

Over nearly three decades, the European Scientific Conferences gathered researchers, academics, and heritage practitioners to advance the documentation and understanding of intangible cultural heritage in Europe.
