Hands that keep Hong Kong's heritage alive

Ten documentary photographs move through workshops and neighbourhood bakeries, following the skilled work behind paper structures, painted porcelain, carved figures, movable type and festival foods.

Entry object

A large figure begins with a frame and a practiced hand.

The opening photograph keeps the maker and the work in the same frame. It establishes the exhibition's central evidence: heritage is visible in process, not only in a finished object.

Read each caption together with the image. The title identifies the practice; the second line records the material, technique or social setting shown.

Construction, painting, baking, carving and printing appear at their own scale. The sequence is arranged as an object register rather than a decorative image wall.

Source and use

All ten photographs were made by Tsui Piu and supplied directly by the project owner on 21 August 2026 for use on the IOV World website. Website copies were resized and compressed for delivery.

The images are kept together on this exhibition page so each photograph has a defined documentary purpose and is not reused as generic decoration elsewhere.
