From April 26th to May 2nd this event took place in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgistan.
About 50 representatives of cultural organisations from all continents were invited by the city of Bishkek and the International Delphic Committee and the Delphic Committee of Kyrgistan to hold meetings and to discuss the development of international cooperation in the field of culture and folk culture.
The forum provided an opportunity for experts, representatives of the cultural community from different countries to discuss current issues concerning the modern world cultural life, to establish an open dialogue and experience exchange.
The Forum program contained presentations, lectures, sessions, discussion platforms and sections, united by the theme of development and interaction between cultures.
Among the participants were representatives of the International Delphic Committee, the CIOFF (represented by President Udomsak), the IOV (represented by Vice-President Prof. Mag. Hans J. Holz), the Association of Moroccan Festivals and other international organisations.
In a special section the International Delphic Committee discussed the results of the Delphic Games over the last 17 years, the positive practice of holding the Delphic events in different countries and the development plans of the Games for the near future.
Further highlights were a reception in the president’s palace and in the town-hall with the mayor of Bishkek, the participation at the celebrations dedicated to the 139th anniversary of the Day of Bishkek City, with impressive folk culture music- and dance performances in the city-center, a Gala-Concert, followed by a Gala-Dinner and an excursion to the National Nature Park „Ala Archa“ in the mountains.
