With deep emotion and a strong sense of responsibility, IOV World announces a significant leadership transition. Prof. Ali Abdullah Khalifa, World President of IOV, has officially resigned from his position due to serious health issues. It is a difficult decision that leaves a profound mark on the international IOV community, to which he has dedicated years of commitment, passion, and vision for the safeguarding of intangible cultural heritage.
On the same day, the Board of Directors convened and, in accordance with Article 11.4 of the IOV Bylaws, unanimously appointed Prof. Emma Chen Ping as the new World President of IOV, with a mandate to serve until the next World General Assembly (WGA) scheduled for 2027.
Prof. Chen Ping, already a prominent figure within the organization, accepted the role with a spirit of service and determination. Her appointment marks a continuation of IOV’s core mission and a renewed confidence in its goals: to promote and protect traditional cultures and intangible heritage in all its forms around the world.
The Board of Directors expresses its heartfelt gratitude to Prof. Khalifa for his tireless dedication during his term, and extends its best wishes to the new President for a path filled with success, serenity, and growth for the entire IOV community.
In this moment of both emotional and organizational significance, the IOV reaffirms its commitment to its founding values, looking to the future with confidence and hope.
