Overview of the inaugural lecture of the Postgraduate Course: Folklore and Popular Arts: culture, development and management
On the third of July of two thousand twenty-one at 3 pm on the Youtube platform, the event began with the objective of presenting the Postgraduate course, unprecedented in Brazil, a great partnership between IOV Brasil and UNIJUÍ .
The master of ceremonies was the president of the Youth IOV Brazil commission, which announced as the opening of the event the participation of the artist and affiliated member of IOV Alagoas João Lemos.
Next, the following authorities were announced to compose the virtual table: Mr. Fabrizio Cataneo, Secretary General of IOV Mundial, who spoke about the importance of creating academic courses with the aim of preserving popular arts and the history of popular arts. The Master of Popular Culture Nazaré do Ó Ribeiro, Honorary President of IOV Brazil reaffirmed the importance of popular culture being also disseminated by universities, through specialization courses, praising the partnership between IOV and UNIJUÍ, being certain that this is just In the beginning and endorsing the previous speeches, the president of IOV Brasil and Executive Director of IOV America, Clerton Vieira thanked the partnership with the University and emphasized the importance of the adhesion and support of all the doers, Masters, researchers and supporters of popular culture in the insertion of folklore in education and teaching institutions.
After the speech of the President of IOV Brazil, the presence of the Immortal Master of IOV Brazil, Vânia Oliveira, Professor Eduardo Benzatti, president of the Infanto IOV Mundial commission, and professor Marlei Sigrist, president of the Academic commission of IOV Brasil, were registered.
Then, a promotional video about the Postgraduate course was presented and the vice-president of IOV Brasil, Mr. Lairton Guedes, continued by presenting the second block of the event, with the question as the main theme:
Why specialize in popular culture?
With the translation of the member of IOV Brazil, Mr. Paulo Soares, member of IOV Rio Grande do Sul, Dr. Mohamed Nouiri, President of the Scientific Committee of IOV worldwide, announced the partnership and assistance of his committee in all activities of the Post course. graduation, where he will act with greater support for IOV’s academic and Pedagogical projects in Brazil.
Then, Professor Kátia Kupertino emphasized the importance of specializing in popular culture, encouraging everyone to join the course as a way of recording their practices and studies; Gisele Motta, affiliated with IOV Brasil in Rio de Janeiro, dancer, actress and choreographer continued with the word telling a little of her history in popular culture and the possibilities that an academic has to be more recognized in her art; Cândida Maldaner, an affiliate of IOV Brasil in Rio Grande do Sul, ended the group of guests, she is the Director of the Department of Culture of the city of Nova Petrópolis –RS. Coordinator of the 48th Nova Petrópolis International Folklore Festival. She ended her speech by communicating about the possibility of graduate students of the course to intern at festivals that take place around the world and especially at the Nova Petrópolis Festival.
The third block was a presentation of the history of the University of Ijuí-UNIJUÍ, where the mission and history of the institution was explained. Professor and Doctor, Fernando Jaime Gonzalez, Vice-Rector of UNIJUÍ made the first presentation on the structure of the Postgraduate Course curriculum: Folklore and Popular Arts: Culture, Development and Management.
