# News detail masthead image sources

These images are assigned to the dynamic `/news/[slug]` article
mastheads. Each header uses a transparent blue readability layer. Captions on
the page distinguish authenticated event or identity photographs from
contextual archive imagery.

Width-labelled WebP files are uncropped responsive delivery variants of the
matching listed news image and inherit its source, credit, context and page
assignment.

Five web derivatives in this folder were made from files supplied by the
project owner. The originals remain unchanged. Where the local filename does
not provide a photographer, licence, exact date or complete provenance, that
gap is retained here and in the visible image record instead of being inferred.

`documentation-weaving.webp` is retained as an unused project derivative and
`board/emma-chen.jpg` remains the official identity portrait. Neither is used
as the image for the Qingdeng visit.
