The International Folk Festival “FOLKCINFÃES” began in 2015.
It takes place in one of the most beautiful regions of Portugal.
It has as particularity the different areas where it takes place, giving the groups the opportunity to visit all the regions of Cinfães and Douro, acting in several municipalities and parishes with a warm and welcoming public.
The International Festival “FOLK CINFÃES,” is an organization of “Folk Group CANTAS E CRAMÓIS – Cinfães”. The Group has a track record since 1949, completing in May 67 years. Since 2004, it has organized international festivals with the participation of, among others, Hungary’s groups, Spain, Italy, France, Slovakia, Brazil, Venezuela, Costa Rica, Panama, Taiwan, Canada, Cazaquistão, Servia, Colombia, Ecuador, Nova Zelândia, Turquia, Máxico, Bulgaria, India, Chipre, Macedónia. Argentina, Polónia e ilha da Madeira-Portugal.
The guest group should be able to prepare a presentation of 6, 10, 15, 30, 45 and 60 minutes which includes folk dances, folk songs, and traditional instrumental music and teach the public to dance one or two of the most popular dances of the group / national identity.
Presentations in some places both indoor and outdoor stages have dance and some on the floor/road. The same situation applies to local accommodation. The respective organizations provide essential on-stage, off-stage and lighting facilities.
The organization will provide three meals a day during the festival duration.
The accommodation will be at the premises of Secondary School Cinfães, still using the baths of annexe Gimnodesportivo. Each house will have a maximum of 10-12 beds (bunks), being assigned compartments for men and others for women.
Internal transport:- During the festival, transportation is provided daily by the organization.
Guests groups should be prepared to make an exchange of souvenirs with the organization and officials
